Client CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 Statistics

The Client CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 Statistics include the CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 session totals, as well as individual counts and average command execution times for various commands. A CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 session consists of a simulated user accessing files on a CIFS server. Avalanche gains access to shared folders through authentication, downloads and uploads real files through Action list commands, and then terminates the session. You view these statistics in the client's summary.csv file.

Field Description
CifsSmb2: Total Successful/Unsuccessful command counts The total number of successful/unsuccessful counts for each of the following commands:
  • SMB_NEGOTIATE
  • SMB2_NEGOTIATE
  • SMB2_SESSION_SETUP
  • SMB2_LOGOFF
  • SMB2_TREE_CONNECT
  • SMB2_TREE_DISCONNECT
  • SMB2_CREATE
  • SMB2_CLOSE
  • SMB2_READ
  • SMB2_WRITE
  • SMB2_CANCEL
  • SMB2_QUERY_DIRECTORY
  • SMB2_OPLOCK_BREAK
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Attempted Sessions The total number of CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 requests sent to the server.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Successful Sessions The total number of successful CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 sessions. A session is considered successful if it was served in its entirety by the server.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Unsuccessful Sessions The total number of unsuccessful CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 sessions. A session is unsuccessful for a variety of reasons, such as the file not existing on the server, the test finishing before the file was completely sent to the client, losing the file connection during the test, and so on.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Aborted Sessions The total number of CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 sessions that were aborted by the client. A session is aborted when the client terminates the CIFSNG/CIFSSMB2 protocol conversation in accordance with the Abort parameter in the Client Profile.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Kbytes received The total number of Kbytes of data received from the server.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Kbytes sent The total number of Kbytes of data sent to the server.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Successful NTLMv2 Session Security Auth

The total number of successful sessions that used NTLMv2 Session Security as the authentication type.

CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Unsuccessful NTLMv2 Session Security Auth

The total number of unsuccessful sessions that used NTLMv2 Session Security as the authentication type.

CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Successful NTLM The total number of successful sessions that used NTLM as the authentication type.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Unsuccessful NTLM The total number of unsuccessful sessions that used NTLM as the authentication type.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Successful NTLMv2 The total number of successful sessions that used NTLMv2 as the authentication type.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Total Unsuccessful NTLMv2 The total number of unsuccessful sessions that used NTLMv2 as the authentication type.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Average Upstream Goodput (Kbytes/sec) The average outgoing bandwidth traffic (in Kbytes/second), not including any retransmitted TCP packets.
CIFSNG/CifsSmb2: Average Downstream Goodput (Kbytes/sec) The average incoming bandwidth traffic (in Kbytes/second), not including any retransmitted TCP packets.
CIFSNG: Total Successful/Unsuccessful command counts, Average command execution time (usec)

The total number of successful/unsuccessful counts, as well as average command execution time in milliseconds, for each of the following commands:

  • CheckDir
  • Close
  • CreateDir
  • DeleteDir
  • DeleteFile
  • RenameFile
  • CopyFile
  • MoveFile
  • FindFileBothDirInfo
  • Logoff
  • Negotiate
  • Open
  • Read
  • SessionSetup
  • QueryFile (FileBasic)
  • QueryFile (FileEaInfo)
  • QueryFile (FileInternalInfo)
  • QueryFile (FileStandardInfo)
  • File System (SizeInfo)
  • File System (VolumeInfo)
  • File System (InfoAllocation)
  • Query Path (FileBasic)
  • Query Path (FileEaInfo)
  • Query Path (FileInternalInfo)
  • Query Path (FileStandardInfo)
  • TreeConnect
  • TreeDisconnect
  • Locking
  • Write
  • Write Validate
  1. NOTE: The Write Validate command causes several intermediate commands to execute, such as, multiple Open/Close and Read/Write commands. However, the average command execution time is based on the total time the Write Validate command took to execute. The execution time for the intermediate commands is not reported.

CifsSmb2: Total Successful/Unsuccessful command counts, Average command execution time (usec)

The total number of successful/unsuccessful counts, as well as average command execution time in milliseconds, for each of the following commands:

  • Negotiate
  • Session Setup
  • Tree Connect
  • Tree DisConnect
  • Logoff
  • Open
  • Close
  • Oplock break
  • Query Directory
  • Read
  • Write
  • Write Validate
