Client Results Overview

Client test results are collected in a Cumulative test report (summary.csv) and Incremental test report (realtime.csv). Cumulative results files are compiled at the end of a test. Incremental (real-time) results are logged throughout the test at a pre-configured sampling interval. For more information about accessing these files, see Managing Test Results.

Client test results are relative to the environment tested, which means similar statistics could be interpreted differently by two customers, depending on each person's network environment. These statistics enable you to evaluate the levels of traffic your equipment or Internet site can handle. Due to network variations, interpreting test results depends greatly on how and what you test.

The beginning of the results files contains general test information, including configuration parameters that you entered during the creation of the test.

NOTES:

  • The Actual Test Duration (sec) parameter is not calculated by subtracting the test Start time from the test End time. The Start and End times are wall clock times. Because of round-off errors with these times, the Actual Test Duration (sec) parameter gives a more accurate measurement of the test duration.
  • Statistics that are not applicable for your test run report "NA" for their values.

Avalanche generates the following types of client results:
