Run Monitor Tab Client and Server

You can monitor a test while it is running in the Run Monitor tab. Once a test begins, this tab becomes active. The left column displays status information for the client, and the right column (if applicable) displays status information for the server.

Field Description
Test Stages (client or server)

The five phases of a test run:

1: Test Preparation

2: Ramping Up

3: Steady State

4: Ramping Down

5: Test Ended

Transactions (client) The number of attempted, successful, unsuccessful, and aborted transactions.
TCP Connections (server) A summary of TCP connection activity.
Time (client) The elapsed and remaining test time.
HTTP Transactions (server) The number of HTTP transactions per second.
Time (server) The elapsed test time.
Layer 2 / Ethernet (client or server) Cumulative counters, as well as rates per second, for outbound and inbound Layer 2 statistics, including the following:
  • Packets sent/received
  • Bytes sent/received
  • Current/Max/Avg sent packets per second
  • Current/Max/Avg received packets per second
Run-Time Stats button Click to open the Runtime Statistics window, which displays run-time graphical client and server statistics for the test in progress.
Event Logs button Displays the Event Log Data pop-up window, which contains the client and server-related messages written to the event log. This data is used to troubleshoot the system, and is intended primarily for support engineers.
Show/Hide Speedometers button Click to display the client traffic speedometers that show incoming and outgoing traffic speeds in Kbps, as your test is running. (Click again to hide the speedometers).
